Getting Started with Microsoft Teams

Regardless of location, Northeastern faculty, staff, and students can optimize their communication and collaboration with Microsoft Teams.

To get started, visit  teams.northeastern.edu  and log in to Teams. Use [your Northeastern username]@northeastern.edu as your username and your Northeastern password to log in.

Once you’re in Teams, below are the first things to do. 

Start with chat

Create a small group chat with colleagues you work with most closely, a great way to communicate in the moment. Name and pin the chat for easy reference.

Connect from anywhere.

Download the Microsoft Teams desktop and mobile apps on your home devices to enable teamwork from anywhere.

Go bigger in Teams.

Join teams for your department and projects to organize larger conversations and files. Better to have fewer, larger teams with more channels than many, small teams with few channels.

Collaborate on files.
